Introducing the new Beneteau First 40

I was fortunate to visit the Paris Boat Show and French Beneteau factory during the Beneteau Sales Top Gun trip this winter. One of the key things for me was the inspection of the new Beneteau First 40, designed by Bruce Farr. I was expecting good things as we currently have a new First 45 in stock - - a beautiful, stong, fast, super fun boat to sail. Well, I must say I was impressed with my initial impressions of the 40. She has the same beautiful, sexy lines as the First 45 and 50 - but in a smaller more manageable package. The interior is modern with light, bleached oak woodwork, stylish fittings, and nice lighting. The salon table has a cool "flip up - flip down" feature where it can easily be converted from dining height to cocktail height. There are 3 roomy berths - one forward and 2 aft, one nice size head, a workable galley, large nav station, and a good overall open feeling salon.
The cockpit shines for performance sailors - to whom this boat is geared. The wheel is large and sexy, winches are easily accessible, and the cockpit lazarettes are even removable to make room for larger crews when racing.
Being aboard this boat made me want to get out on the water and go fast!!
Check out more on the new 40 at Beneteau's web site.
This is another boat we are open to partnering on... be the first one in the Bay Area to order one and we will really work with you if we can show the boat and use her in a couple of boat shows.
